Job description/Person specification
We are looking to appoint a Senior Project Support Officer to support our programme of work delivering secured navigation that can be depended on when accurate navigation, positioning and/or timing is mission-critical. Our projects attract engineers and scientists from across QinetiQ (at all levels of experience) to deliver consultancy, research and the development of services and security capabilities for the next generation of multi-constellation, multi-frequency Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Receivers.
The successful applicant will provide direct support to the Project and Programme Manager, taking a key role in the efficient running of high profile technology projects, ensuring project administration tasks are delivered to tight timelines, project documentation is kept up to date and accurate data is collated and analysed for tracking, reporting, planning and billing purposes.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Delivering project support tasks within an assigned team; using project system data, project reporting, and other project document creation and management within the project lifecycle briefcase repository.
- Delivering project finance tasks; invoicing and cash collection, calculation of accruals, collation of costs and tracking against baselines.
- Supporting project meetings; agendas, minutes and action tracking.
- Sharing project support knowledge, skills and best practice to contribute to continuous improvement.
Applicants will have previous project support experience, with an awareness of project management principles, including the project lifecycle and project financial management, and some experience with MS Project. You will be comfortable supporting Project Managers, able to provide
Prior experience of working to corporate procedures and using corporate tools is highly desirable. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work with individuals at varying levels as part of a team as well as unsupervised. You will be able to prioritise your workload and multi-task. You will have strong organisational and IT skills (including core Microsoft packages e.g. Excel), and be able to conduct detailed calculations from finance data for a variety of reporting purposes.
