Job Summary

To provide all senior PM responsibilities in support of the successful delivery of Enriched Uranium Programme (EUP) Repack project (Project 2) to quality, time and cost. This is one of seven current projects which collectively form the EUP, a highly visible and strategically important programme

*

Development of the EUP Technical Baseline: fissile material inventory, receiving facility conditions for acceptance and establishment of functional requirements for repacking and preparation for transport.

*

Identification, assessment and selection of preferred option(s) for location and configuration of repack capabilities.

*

Delivery of engineering and nuclear safety case activities and deliverables to support the full project delivery lifecycle.

*

Procurement, manufacture, installation and inactive commissioning of repack capabilities.

*

Support to active commissioning and repack operations.

The role requires co-ordination of all project management activities required to ensure overall delivery – at the highest levels this to include, in no particular order:

*

Development of a fully resourced, cost loaded schedule against which performance and progress can be monitored,

*

Co-ordination of technical specification requirements into fit-for-purpose tender documentation

*

Engagement with the supply chain to facilitate a competitive and effective tender exercise

*

Working with the commercial team to deliver a highly competitive and robust tender exercise

*

A highly proactive risk and opportunity management regime and with all integrated resolution activities

*

Reporting requirement equally satisfying project and client requirements

*

Securing senior input in a timely manner through where external assistance is required

*

Ensuring compliance with all site safety and operational requirements

*

Ensuring consistent application of processes and procedures

*

Driving value and behaviours in line with the agreed EU Programme Partnering Information Document which is all about an effective collaborative working relationship

Typical responsibilities commensurate with the seniority of this role include:

*

Provides project leadership for the Repack project at all levels through project, commercial and technical disciplines

*

Identify potential project problems or opportunities, analysis of the issues making use of all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.

*

Ensure development and adherence to the programme/ project Work Breakdown Structure

*

Develops the Project Execution Plan, keeping it fresh and adhered to through all phases of work

*

Co-ordinate production of and takes ownership of monthly project report for review at the Project Review Board forum

*

Demonstrate command of the schedule goals, key milestones, and approach to the work embodied in the schedule.

*

Ensure that a firm scope-based schedule baseline is established and properly resourced.

*

Manage performance and progress against the plan and ensures accurate forecasts with commensurate action plans.

*

Review, report and manage key performance measures defined within the contract. Implements corrective measures when measures are outside service levels or bandwidths.

*

Consistently meet or improve upon the established schedule goals in their area of responsibility.

*

Manage performance and progress against the plan and ensures accurate forecasts with commensurate action plans.

*

Establish annual operating budgets in cooperation with the client.

*

Provide accurate monthly forecasts of cost, schedule, and resource utilization.

Minimum Requirements

*

Core skills are excellent leadership, high level of resilience, delivery focused, results orientated and organisational skills

*

Ideally requires experience in the nuclear sector however experience in an alternativecomplex highly regulated environment such as chemical or oil and gas would provide a sound foundation from which to be successful in this role

*

Broad project management experience;

*

Leadership of multi-disciplinary team;

*

Demonstrably delivery focused;

*

Proven track record of delivering projects in excess of £20m;

*

Experience working with regulators;

*

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;

*

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management , Facility Management or other relevant discipline OR demonstrated equivalent qualification and experience combination

*

Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Due to the nature of the role and the client, it is important that all applications have resided in the UK for at least 5 years. We need all candidates to ideally be Security Cleared (SC) or have no issue in obtaining SC. A prerequisite for SC is that the applicant has lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years.
