About the role

Join Virgin Media Business (VMB) as Senior Product Manager developing the VMB strategy and implementation plan and deliver the new world capability in collaboration especially with technology. The role will be targeted on delivering optimisation of the access cost base thus enabling cost savings and competitiveness of overlay products. Supporting requirements for WLR base migrations and for retiring relevant access services.

This is a broad role that requires a commercially and strategically astute senior manager with experience of managing senior stakeholders effectively, you will act as the voice of the customer and will be the lead point of contact within VMB for access developments and decisions.

The role acts as senior sponsor for their programmes to ensure that the Virgin Media Business agenda is delivered.

Responsibilities:

* Leads the definition and scope creation for the access strategy (with a technically and commercially customer facing approach), and identifies what business outcome will be delivered across multiple VMB products.
* Identifies growth as well as opportunities for efficiency and cost optimisation through the sales of new access products.
* Delivers initiatives including new product developments and End of Life programmes, product enhancements and customer migrations, to agreed timescales and budget.
* Develops and leads the Go to Market plan, and works with wider Commercial Marketing team to deliver effective internal and market facing communication and sales enablement activities.
* Gains stakeholder approval and buy-in and influencing at director level to resolve issues and roadblocks.
* P&L management of the Project & development budget.
* Ensures all programme definition and execution is driven primarily by the customer experience that they will deliver.
* Works with product managers to map potential and optimal migration paths for customers, and where appropriate, evaluates innovative solutions to address potential gaps created by End of Life activity for products.
* Leads development of training materials and documents associated with initiatives
* Interlock with In-Life product management ensuring key stakeholder engagement
* Ensuring the voice of the customer within the project teams.
* Understand the interlock of various developments on the overall VM product strategy.

So what are we looking for?

* Proven senior product management, product development, programme management or project management background in defining customer requirements and user experience. With the ability to prioritise and understand cost, time, quality and scope trade-offs within the product delivery lifecycle.
* Adept communicator able to inspire project teams to deliver and influence wide audience. The successful individual will be a dynamic individual with drive and commitment product to in B2B environment.
* Commercial focus with good understanding of the access market (SOGEA, FTTP, FTTC, Gfast etc.), Ofcom regulations etc.
* Experience of Data technologies (Ethernet, IPVPN, QoS, xDSL, FTTx, cable modem)
* Experience of Applications & Services (Cloud, SaaS, data centre)
* Experience of Software technologies (Operating Systems, IP PBX versions etc)
* Experience of Voice technologies (TDM, CENTREX, ISDN Q931/DASS, VoIP, WLR3, SIP, UC etc.)
