Senior Process Engineer
Purpose of Position:
As a key member of the engineering team the Senior Process Engineer will work closely with the Design Manager and Lead Designer to deliver Coffey Group design works across Ireland and the UK, for public and private sector clients. The design work may include tender stage and preliminary designs, detailed designs and the ongoing support of live contracts. This position requires a diligent candidate with a strong work ethic, capable of working on own their initiative with proven strong problem-solving skills.
Design Manager or assigned Lead Designer
•Working closely with the Design Manager and Lead Designer to deliver Coffey Group design works across Ireland and the UK, for public and private sector clients.
•Perform preliminary and detailed design based on data provided; achieving contract specified goals.
•Research and development of new design solutions.
•Develop relationships with supply chain partners (Products/Services).
•Actively mentoring and providing guidance to junior design staff and direct reports within the design team.
•Application of appropriate software and processes to provide advice, solutions and successful outcomes to achieve contract objectives.
•Assisting the development and adoption standards in design to streamline engineering tasks.
•Assisting the commercial/estimating team members in developing CAPEX and OPEX models.
•Developing drawings of equipment and plant layouts as required in conjunction with the CAD team.
•Developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) and control philosophies.
•Developing process mass balance, hydraulic, energy and mechanical calculations as part of the detailed design.
•Development and review of site/process assessment reports and detailed design reports.
•Participation in HAZOP’s studies.
•Preparation of value engineering proposals for tenders and detailed designs.
•Ensuring Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully respected and taken account of in design.
•Effective time management and execution of work within defined timeline and budgetary constraints.
The role will be head office based with travel as required to live project locations.
•Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
•Minimum 10 years of experience in process design.
•Chartered status or working towards status.
•Proven track record in delivering technical designs including process, civil, mechanical and electrical/ICA elements.
•Ability to work on multiple assignments, mentoring and delegating duties to personnel under your supervision.
•Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD software.
•Strong Problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.
•Effective time management and communication skills.
•Excellent oral and written reporting skills.
•Good understanding of quality, environmental and safety management systems.
•Strong understanding of the regulatory aspects within the water and wastewater industry.
