As we continue to expand our Streets team following several exciting project wins, we now have a vacancy for a Senior or Principal Engineer to work as part of our Edinburgh based team. We have a variety of high-profile sustainable transport projects which offer opportunity to create a legacy of healthy and inclusive neighbourhoods and cities.

*

Various walking, cycling and sustainable transport projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.

You will:

*

Lead the preparation of preliminary and detailed design projects, taking overall responsibility for delivery.

*

You will drive forward ambitious and high-quality projects from inception through to construction.

*

Line manage, mentor and supervise staff in the performance of their duties.

*

Lead the preparation of detailed technical reports providing specialist technical contributions as required.

*

Act as a Technical Lead or Project Manager, including monitoring of financial and team performance.

*

Liaise and work with contractors and carry out site supervision.

*

Undertake Health & Safety duties including ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members and fulfilling Safety-in-Design requirements.

*

Act as a Principal Designer under CDM 2015 and be responsible for HSE notifications, preparation and review of PCI’s, CPP’s and Health and Safety Files where applicable

*

Prepare fee proposals and major bids.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum requirements:

We are keen to hear from anyone who feels they may be suited to the role and are motivated to make a positive difference through the delivery of sustainable transport projects. If your skills profile has a combination of the following or you feel you are working towards, then we would like to hear from you:

*

Excellent working knowledge of local and national design standards including, but not limited to; TSRGD, Manual for Streets, DMRB and Traffic Signs Manual.

*

Experience of successfully delivering a range of traffic/transport engineering projects.

*

Project Management knowledge and experience.

*

Understanding of Health and Safety including CDM responsibilities.

*

Strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain a highly motivated project delivery team.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications :

*

You will ideally be a Chartered Engineer or will be working towards an appropriate Professional status with membership of a professional institution.

*

B.Sc., BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant Engineering discipline.
