Support our busy multi-disciplinary water consulting team at a Senior/Principal level and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.

As a Flood / Hydraulic Modeller in Swindon, you will be joining the No.1 deliverer of flood risk management services in the UK, working as part of an integrated, forward thinking and highly skilled team with the opportunity to learn from and assist key industry experts.

Working with other members of our team, you’ll be providing technical leadership of hydraulic modelling, hydrology and/or planning projects, from inception to handover, working with the project manager to ensure they are delivered on budget and to deadlines.

During your time with us, you will also have the opportunity to nurture, stretch and develop the technical skills of more junior level colleagues; Identify and deliver technical innovation in order to improve efficiency of delivery, ensure effective dissemination of latest methodologies and tools, and take a direct role in ensuring flood management project deliverables meet clients’ needs.

Candidates seeking work on a part time basis, will also be considered for this position.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

*

A background in hydraulic modelling, hydrology or water resource management

*

Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in civil engineering or environmental/earth sciences.

*

Chartered or approaching chartership with appropriate recognised institution.

*

Be highly flexible and self-motivated towards improving team and personal performance.

*

Have demonstrable technical expertise in one or more of the following technical disciplines: 1d and 2 d modelling (Flood Modeller, TUFLOW), UK hydrological methodologies, industry standard GIS software.

*

Have the ability to produce high quality technical writing for bid and project work.

*

MSc. / PhD in relevant technical areas will be an advantage.

Have a proven track record of working collaboratively in teams and with other disciplines in delivering water planning projects

*

Have excellent written and verbal skills when communicating with stakeholders including technical and non-technical parties

*

Be a flexible team player, able to work with different project teams both locally and across remote offices

*

Commercial awareness and evidence of ability to deliver projects and bids to time and budget.

*

Flexible approach to respond to changing market requirements.
