DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS

We are looking for a Senior or Principal Engineer to join our Marine team working on Waterfront Development including designing port structures, coastal and river engineering, quay walls, steel design, jetties, and flood defence work. Working alongside our design and engineering teams, you'll be responsible for technical deliverables including calculations, design work for projects and general project management responsibilities. You'll also be responsible for checking and assessing the design work of your team on technically challenging projects, as well as supporting colleagues on-going professional development activity.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:

* Contributing towards the design of projects for a wide range of clients

* Development and technical assurance of design and reports

* Design coordination of multi-disciplinary aspects of schemes

* Motivating team to higher levels of performance, ensuring they comply with business processes and procedures in a timely manner

* Mentoring junior team members

* Managing the delivery of your projects to time and budget, ensuring an industry-leading standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems

* Managing, mentoring, and developing less experienced engineers and technicians within your project teams, working with line managers to maximise training opportunities

* Developing and maintaining client relationships through your project work, including identifying and realising any potential business opportunities

* Assisting with the preparation of bids and tenders and supporting the Director's in pursuing business development opportunities if required

* Production of engineering design, assessment or checking work including preparation or checking of calculations, written reports, and other contract deliverables.

Furthermore, you'll preferably have:

* A Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering

* IEng/CEng with the Institution of Civil Engineers

* Experience in port structures, coastal and river engineering, quay walls, steel design, jetties, and flood defence work

* Coordination of design for multi-disciplinary projects working with multi-disciplinary teams

* In-depth knowledge of the relevant design codes to undertake and analyse design

* Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations

* Managing and coordinating tasks within a team

* Experience of design and build projects would be beneficial

* ave significant experience leading project teams and managing the delivery of projects, either as client's or contractor's designer, ideally both

* Be an accomplished team leader with the ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineers

* Have the inter-personal skills and aptitude to work collaboratively in a diverse multi-disciplinary team

* Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

* Be a technically strong engineer, able to demonstrate a deep understanding and passion for engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence
