Job Summary

Would you like to shape places, playing a key role in multi-disciplinary teams? Would you like to join a young, dynamic planning team in our state-of-the-art East London office? AECOM’s London-based planning team work on some of the largest, most complex and high profile development and regeneration projects in the UK for both public and private sector clients.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Planner with some experience in development management. As a Senior Planner you will play a role in managing projects, engaging directly with clients and stakeholders to secure successful planning outcomes.

You will be based in our flagship Aldgate Tower Office working on a multi-disciplinary floor alongside urban designers, landscape architects and sustainability experts. Our state of the art offices offer a flexible and modern approach to working collaboratively amongst the team. We are based minutes from Spitalfields Market in the heart of East London.

Main duties would include:

*

Provide specific technical expertise in land use planning and work within a team of planners, urban designers, landscape architects and engineers and others to complete land development, master planning, and strategic development planning projects.

*

Play a major role in the preparation of planning applications, often for large scale residential- and mixed-use schemes, supervising junior staff and liaising with other disciplines in multi-disciplinary teams. Also liaising with the client and other stakeholders to achieve successful planning outcomes.

*

Lead the management of small- and medium-sized projects and contribute to the successful management of our largest projects, with some responsibility for budget, programme and general project performance. Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures.

*

Support others in the team to identify and pursue business development opportunities, and support the growth of the business through new and repeat clients. Contribute to proposals and qualification documents to secure new commissions.

*

Provide effective representation for the organisation, developing and managing relationships with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders through project work and through attendance at conferences and other networking events.

*

Participate in the successful operation and management of the town planning team, including playing a role in sharing technical knowledge and excellence.

*

Provide assistance to the management team as may be required from time to time.

Minimum Requirements

*

Degree qualified in a relevant discipline

*

Post-graduate experience, preferably in a consultancy environment

*

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

*

Full Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute, MRTPI

Post-graduate experience, preferably in a consultancy environment
