Job Summary

Our Pavement Engineering team in Nottingham is currently looking for a Pavement Engineer with extensive experience in pavement design, investigation and research.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Associate and will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, design, site inspection, materials specification and research of various types pavement projects.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and pragmatic individual who wishes to assist in the development of innovative, cost effective and buildable solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating and demanding. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.

Our Pavement Engineering team is based within our Nottingham office. Although we have always offered remote working opportunities, due to the current climate most of the team are working from home. The team is well respected as experts in their field and require an individual with sound technical abilities to help enhance and grow the team.

Our clients are from the private and public sector and our leading UK clients include Highways England, Transport for London and a number of local authority organisations.

Minimum Requirements

We have an impressive portfolio of major national and international infrastructure projects. A selection of our current and recent projects includes:

The appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:

*

Delivering pavement and materials projects requiring interpretative reporting, evaluation of data, design and specification

*

Project Manager to implement the technical quality requirements, address the project brief, meeting the client’s programme and budget control within AECOM’s Project Management system.

*

Managing fieldwork projects including commercial and health and safety requirements, site supervision during investigation or construction works and monitoring of site trials.

*

Development of Proposals and Marketing literature for pavement & materials services. Support to assist other team members at all levels; and mentoring of junior members of the team including Technicians and Apprentices.

*

Liaison with clients at their offices and contractors on site, coordination/chair kickoff/progress meetings/workshops. Working with the wider pavement team and other disciplines, liaising with laboratory and operations staff to understand and deliver the project technical brief

*

Champion for Quality and establishment/challenge best practice Procedures.

*

Knowledge of Materials behavior and the underlying standard specifications including Concrete, Asphalt, Soil Stabilisation, Pavement Engineering, Materials production, Material Trails, and Testing, Quality control, Material Approval Reviews, Project Management and Site Supervision

*

Knowledge of pavement engineering demonstrated by experience in pavement design, investigation and research.

*

Knowledge or experience of highway and airfield pavement engineering projects

*

Knowledge or experience of UK pavement design methodologies and contract documentation, including MCHW.

*

Experience of pavement investigation projects for maintenance design and failure investigation

*

Working knowledge of the preparation of proposals and communication with clients
