What is the purpose of the role?

We are seeking a Senior Network Protection Investigator to lead a field team to successfully solve cases of sewer misuse at source. You will be responsible for the individual development of your team through coaching, motivating and by driving performance through key metrics. You will gather the necessary evidence and intelligence on events using multiple sources. All information gathered must be appropriate to enable presentation to a civil or criminal stand. What makes this role unique?

This is a new position within a growing team where you will be responsible for developing and implementing continuous improvements to optimise team performance and reduce sewer misuse. No two days are the same and if you enjoy a challenge and thrive on working in an environment that offers variety, where you will be liaising with multiple businesses, this is the ideal role for you.

What will this role involve?

People/performance management: You will set high standards and carry out quality monitoring alongside your team in the field to ensure we are solving cases efficiently. Through regular 1-2-1s and coaching sessions you will lead an improvement in your team's performance and thus the service and experience of our customers.

Customer and Stakeholder management: You will ensure your team acts professional at all times with early personal interventions as required. You will liaise with customers and businesses and support them to improve their grease management practices.

Case management: You will allocate high risk jobs to your team through a work management system, ensuring they gather the necessary evidence should the case be escalated. You will prepare cases for enforcement action, ensuring the required evidence has been gathered and presented suitably.

Motivation: It can be a tough environment and you will need to keep your team motivated to meet targets and to be passionate about what we do. You will need to communicate and share a range of messages.

Lead change: As we evolve our network protection team and continuously improve how we manage sewer misuse, you will lead and embed these changes so they become reality.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has the ability to lead a team by using 'a hands' on approach and achieve results by tackling sewer misuse at its source. You will have a strong focus on and good working knowledge of health and safety. Ideally you will have an enforcement background and experience working with and managing customer relationships. You will have an aptitude for understanding the technical and legal aspects of the role, to ensure successfully and robust interpretation and solutions. You will need to be competent in using IT systems to be able to allocate cases to your team and keep the business informed at all times. Due to the nature of the role, a clean driving license is essential.
