Job Summary

The Manchester office are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their established team. This is a great opportunity for a Client facing Engineer to take a leading role on varied and exciting projects across the North West with National and International opportunities also available.

The successful candidate will be a self motivated, confident individual that can provide guidance to entry level engineers.

As a senior Mechanical engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

*

Produce detailed design information including calculations, drawings, technical reports and technical specifications

*

Provide Support to Mechanical discipline lead

*

Attend design team and / or client team meetings

*

Review the work of Engineers and Graduates and provide support and guidance.

*

Act as a mentor to junior staff and promote CPD activities

*

Consider financial implications in producing design options

*

Carry out risk assessments and value engineering

*

Contribute and provide information for fee proposals

Minimum Requirements

*

Extensive experience in Mechanical building services design in a wide range of market sectors.

*

The ability to provide technically sound design solutions.

*

Security Clearance may be required to work on some projects

*

Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients

*

Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business

*

Relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering design, including areas such as specification writing, calculations, and developing designs from first principles.

*

Experience in; the calculation of loads and system duties including Psychrometrics, sizing of Pipework and Ductwork, Sizing of Domestic water services, Producing Schematic diagrams, Producing Plant & Equipment Schedules

*

Experience in Film Studios and/or Leisure sectors would be an advantage

*

Software:

Hevacomp

*

IES

*

AUTOCAD

*

MS Office

*

Revit capabilities (not essential)

Preferred Qualifications

*

HNC/HND or related degree in building services, - (rather than degree only)

*

Full UK Driving Licence (?)

*

CSCS card

*

Membership (CEng / IEng) of CIBSE, or relevant and equivalent professional body.

*

Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, able to inspire, influence and negotiate
