THE ROLE

This role will be responsible for leading, developing and manging SVO product strategy, vehicle life-cycle plans, product proposals and electrification strategies through the Jaguar Land Rover product development process. You’ll lead a team that is split into three key areas:

Product Strategy – the future focused, forward looking study team responsible for developing early phase study items alongside responsibility for propulsion strategy, CO2 compliance and legislation.

Programme Management – team of product strategy managers who own and manage vehicle programmes through the development process and liaise with the core business functions to align product actions and vehicle proposals. Reporting status and progress against project milestones.

Innovation – world-class features and technology are the key focus of our best products. The innovation function will co-ordinate research ideas and technology roadmaps, providing ‘thought leadership’ in order to identify and initiate new features for our halo vehicles

The team will co-ordinate the inputs from the key stakeholders to build life-cycle plans, business cases and content definition for the vehicle nameplates. Then drive the individual programmes through the concept study phase and deliver the product concepts to project kick-off, where the handover to the delivery team will take place.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

This role requires strategic thinking, problem solving and a dynamic, innovative approach as new business challenges arise, as well as constantly looking for ways to move existing processes forward and create simple solutions to complex problems. Entrepreneurial mindset is critical.

With a strong technical understanding of whole vehicle engineering, you will be experienced in developing and leading teams responsible for strategic planning, in order to compile compelling proposals for nameplate WLPs, complimentary product actions and profit making tactical actions. There will be an expectation to challenge programme inputs and resolve issues. You will have superior communication skills to influence, motivate, and manage diverse groups of stakeholders, with strong and effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
