Our Glasgow based Highways team currently has vacancies for Senior Highway Engineers. The successful candidates will take responsibility in all aspects of highway design to work on local, national, and international schemes from our city centre office.

The Glasgow office has an established track record of successfully delivering road schemes and works closely with other disciplines from Bridges, Geotechnical, Environment, Transport Planning and Streets.

The team workload ranges from feasibility studies to scheme designs, working with a variety of clients including design & build partnerships with contractors. Current projects being undertaken by our Scottish Highways team include:

*

A720 Sheriffhall Roundabout;

*

East Airdrie Link Road;

*

A303 Stonehenge;

*

Newry Southern Relief Road; and

*

Dublin Bus Connects.

*

Whilst the above highlights some of our current local projects there are also significant opportunities for the right candidate to contribute to a wider UK & Ireland portfolio of projects including many recent wins for Highways England.

Job Responsibilities:

*

Produce technical design information including, drawings and specifications

*

Ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards;

*

Deliver all specified project outcomes on time, within budget and to the quality required;

*

Write and oversee the preparation of contract documents and technical reports as required;

*

Coach mentor and develop junior staff;

*

Managing and developing both internal and external client relationships;

*

Manage the workload and oversee the design team members;

*

Prepare designer’s risk assessments;

*

Undertake technical management of medium-sized projects or tasks;

*

Undertake checks of designs completed by others;

*

Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients, using tools for information sharing such as Business Collaborator and ProjectWise;

*

Writie and oversee the preparation of contract documents and technical reports;

Knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques and procedures.

Chartered Engineer or at least working towards

Bachelors of Degree in Engineering filed.
