Job Summary

A leading multi-disciplined management consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Principal Designer to join their existing health and safety services team. The role will be based in their Peterborough office with the potential to supervise and develop junior members of the team and extend the outreach of the services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the leading construction companies that delivers projects in more than 150 countries and an organisation that invests in their employee’s CPD training Your role will be to act as an valued Principal Designer and CDM Advisor, primarily working on a range of high end projects across a variety of sectors.

Duties within this role will include:

*

You will work closely with clients and design teams to provide technical expertise and approve designs.

*

Working with existing clients as well as delivering to new clients and building strong relationships

*

Ensure compliance in line with CDM regulation throughout the project portfolio.

*

Providing information to contractors to manage health and safety throughout construction phase

*

Conduct audits/inspections of sites from design to completion stage

*

Assisting the client in identifying, obtaining and collating the pre-construction Information, visiting sites and carrying out risk assessment to establish existing hazards and site restrictions during the pre-construction phase right through to project completion.

*

Reviewing and monitoring contractors’ and designers’ compliance with CDM regulations

Minimum Requirements

The successful CDM Consultant should ideally hold the following:

*

Extensive knowledge of CDM2015 Regulations

*

Experience acting Principal Designer / CDM Coordinator.

Preferred Qualifications

*

Registered member of the Association of Project Safety (IMaPS)

*

NEBOSH Construction or other recognised construction H&S certificate

*

Registered member of IOSH – Tech minimum

*

Recognised membership of a proven Health & Safety organisation

*

Good Communication Skills both oral and written

*

Career driven and value the opportunity to progress quickly.

*

Experience working for a consultancy or a similar client facing role.

*

Excellent organisation and presentation skills
