Your mission

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for Senior Design Firmware Engineer to join an R&D team developing the next generation of high-performance systems for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT)

As a successful candidate you will be given the responsibility for the definition and delivery of sub-systems employing emerging technologies. You will join a small Agile team of multi-disciplinary engineers researching, designing, developing, and releasing embedded software for Industrial Automation systems.

Our Software is used in some of the world’s most critical applications, we are looking for innovative Software designers, that can solve complex problems while following rigorous software development processes.

The role will provide opportunities to work with engineers from different countries and cultures. This may involve travel to Schneider sites in Europe and the USA to attend workshops with members of the global R&D team. Schneider Electric encourages hybrid ways of working, with opportunity to split time between the office and working from home.

About you:

Required experience/skills:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software, Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering, or similar related subject.

• You must have experience in designing Embedded Real Time Software

• You must have experience in implementing C/C++

* Excellent Communication Skills

Demonstration of any of the following would be advantageous:

• Experience of ARM Cortex processors

• Embedded Real Time Software including Real Time Operation Systems

• Industrial communication protocols

• Real Time Control

• High Availability Systems

• Object oriented design
