Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager to join the team in Aberdeen.

Supports the VP F&A in the direction of financial affairs of the organisation and provides oversight and guidance regarding financial analysis of operations. Senior Finance Manager EAME provides direction to all the EAME TCS offices driving standardisation and compliance including the preparation and analysis of the company financial plans and policies, compliance with accounting practices, maintenance of its fiscal records and coordination with auditors.

* Development, analysis, and interpretation of accounting and statistical information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organisation
* Manage business and finance relationships, both internal and external, to deliver establishment and leadership of the Region. Manage, lead and coordinate to deliver finance activity as set out in the Wood Operating Model to meet business unit financial requirements
* Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Finance department. This individual recommends training and development requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives, and may recommend that personnel be hired or removed from the Department
* Responsible for the company's system of internal controls as well as the detailed systems of accounts. Keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets using relevant accounting system. Actively identifies and pursues process improvements and system enhancements
* With respect to the internal control environment, responsible for ownership of the account reconciliation process as well as interfacing with internal and external auditors
* Coordinates and directs the preparation of budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures, and analyses and reports variances
* Responsible for the accurate preparation and dissemination of internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient and furnishes external reports as necessary. Provides timely and actionable feedback on all elements of working capital management to the appropriate parties. Actively leads the management of credit exposure for the company
* Works closely with Business partners to help drive Service line strategy. Preparation and consolidation of the service line reporting pack. Development of the project reporting that incorporates key performance indicators for projects and respective Service lines
* Actively partners with the Service lines to understand results, identify opportunities for improvement, manage risk, and provide resources when necessary
* Personnel responsibility for local entity finance leads in EAME region, including training and development needs
* Lead the entity simplification, system implementation and business integration Programme in the region

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Professionally qualified CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred

Skills & Experience:

* Good commercial knowledge
* Good systems experience - preferably an ERP system, Oracle preferred
* Proficient user of Excel, PowerPoint
* Safety & Assurance - Safety aware and promote within the team
* Relationships - Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with function heads and finance community
* People - Ability to communicate effectively to both Finance and non-finance personnel
* Innovation - Shows strong willingness to challenge processes and seek both improvements and consistency
* Financial Responsibility - Demonstrates strong willingness to question and challenge
* Integrity - Demonstrates strong ethical values and communicates with openness and honesty
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Good planning and organizational skills - work well under pressure and is deadline driven
* Customer focused - internally and externally
* Ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organization
* Ability to work proactively to analyze problems/issues and identify solutions
* Numerate and analytical
* Ability to work to strict deadlines within the wider global team
* Able to demonstrate previous experience in developing and implementing reporting frameworks
* Experience in presenting results to senior leadership (preferred)
