The Role

Our Environment and Sustainability team provides strategic environmental consultancy services across transport, utilities, local government infrastructure. The team has a diverse range of skilled people with expertise in ecology, noise, air quality, landscape, arboricultural services, archaeology, carbon modelling, EIA coordination, EMS and auditing, and GIS specialists, servicing the consulting needs within the wider Amey group.

This is an exciting opportunity to assist with environmental coordination and assessment on a variety of road and rail schemes across the UK being based in the North of England. We view this Senior Environmental Coordinator role as a key opportunity to influence, develop and grow our team of Environmental Coordinators.

We are seeking a highly-motivated candidate preferably with demonstrable experience in Highways environmental assessment.

We want to hear from you if you have:

* Degree in Environmental Management/Science (or other relevant degree) with 5+ years’ experience delivering environmental assessment, EIA and associated reporting within a consultancy environment, preferably including Highways schemes and the DMRB;

* Chartered status and Full Membership of a recognised relevant professional body (e.g. Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). Where a candidate does not meet this requirement, they would be expected to achieve this within their first year.

* Ideally have EIA experience, e.g. for major schemes including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and familiarity with the Development Consent Order process and/or Transport Works Act Order, as well as the Town and Country Planning (EIA) Regulations

* Experience working in Client facing roles and in a multi-disciplinary environment, interacting with all disciplines in the environment team as well as design teams, clients and stakeholders;

* Experience undertaking formal and informal consultation with Statutory and other consultees;

* Ability to manage budgets and resourcing ensuring project stages are delivered on time and on budget;

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working on multiple tasks and projects at any one time

* Experience of working to, implementing and auditing ISO14001 projects/contracts

* Experience and expertise using Microsoft packages;

* Experience of preparing bids and presentations;

* .

* Must have excellent written and oral communication

* Enthusiastic, energetic and dynamic approach to people and projects

* Forward thinking and interested in developing smart ways of working with teams to realise Client and operational objectives
