Salary Range £33,000 - £37,000 plus benefits, including 25 days holiday and pension.

Sweco are looking for a keen and enthusiastic Senior Environmental Consultant to work as part of a small team within Sweco's Advisory & Planning Division, supporting the delivery of environmental complance services, planning and permitting applications and advice, management of our client's environmental monitoring programmes and project management for resource management, environment and other related projects around the UK.

We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Consultant to join our team. In this role you’ll be responsible for:

* Providing support and direction to planning and permit applications.
* Supervise and provide direction on the environmental monitoring program and assist in preparation and checking of reports for issue to clients and regulators.
* Liaise with clients to deliver ongoing and new projects
* Communicate with regulators to ensure projects are delivered to the desired standards and outcomes.
* Manage workloads to prioritise critical pathways.
* Communicate to a high standard with internal departments and subconsultants to ensure delivery of work on time.
* Assist in overall project administration and record keeping.
* Ensure that all work is carried out in full compliance with Sweco’s Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
* Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required.
* Liaising with team members, clients and other disciplines to work together to delivery project Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

* Sound knowledge of current environmental regulation including planning and permitting
* Knowledge in the principles and regulatory guidance of environmental monitoring
* Experience in addressing health and safety hazards and risks
* IT literate.

​​​​​​​​Professional Membership and Qualifications:

* Honours Degree or above in a relevant environmental subject.
* Working towards a relevant Chartership (e.g. MCIWM) with a UK or internationally recognised institution.

​​​​​​​Personal Qualities:

* Ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required at the appropriate level
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met
* Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions
* Project a professional image to clients and colleagues.
* Demonstrate pride in work, through accurate and timely delivery.
* Able to communicate to a high standard using varied media to suit the situation.
