Senior Environmental Advisor - Cambridge

We are looking for a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our civil engineering team on-site for our A14 project based near Brampton or Swavesey, Cambridgeshire.

You’ll:

*
Promote continuous improvement of environmental sustainability performance on the A14 project.

*
Participate in the development, regular review and update of the A14 Environmental Management System.

*
Assist in the development and delivery of suitable environmental and sustainability training for all project staff.

*
Represent and promote the Environment Department in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums.

*
Raise environment/sustainability awareness and community relations awareness.

*
Carry out site inspections and ensure legal compliance to applicable environmental legislation is maintained.

*
Support external liaison with regulators i.e. Environment Agency, Local Authorities etc.

*
Participate in reviewing the construction environmental management plan.

*
Carry out allotted quota of site environmental inspections.

*
Conduct subcontractor environmental audits as per the annual audit programme.

*
Deliver A14 specific environmental targets.

We’re looking for:

*
A degree in BSc in Environmental Sciences or equivalent, a degree with an element of Safety & Health management preferred.

*
Proven experience in a similar environmental role, road sector is preferred but not essential.

*
Appreciation and understanding of current Environmental issues.
