About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Track to join our established and growing Track team, with options to be based in Birmingham, London, Guildford, Glasgow or Manchester .

With a vast and varied local and international work bank, this is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and dynamic team, with superior opportunities for professional and personal development. You will be contributing to the growth of our Rail business and bring your skills to some of the biggest and best rail projects in the UK and abroad, working within an innovative, high performing environment at one of the world’s leading global engineering consultancies.

A typical week would include:

* Production of Track Alignments

* Undertaking design of track structure, trackform and track components

* Undertaking design self-checks

* Responsible for addressing interfaces and design coordination checks

* Work on a variety of railway types including overseas railways

* Providing input to technical specifications and track alignment criteria

* Undertake feasibility studies, investigative studies and technical peer review reports

* Providing support to and participating in client advisory roles

* Providing input to project risks, assumptions, RAMS requirements and value engineering reports

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

* Professional affiliations: Member of PWI; working towards Engineering Council Accreditation

* Academic qualifications: Tertiary Education; Engineering Degree or equivalent

* Experience in railway types – heavy rail, metro, light rail, tram and preferably, high speed

* Experience in track alignment design, plain line and S&C and ability to incorporate project specific alignment criteria for a range of railway types

* Understanding of the principles of Clearance and Gauging

* Experience in design of track structure, trackform and track components

* Experience in design for Depot track layouts

* Ability to undertake feasibility studies, investigative studies and technical peer review reports

* Ability to provide input to project risks, assumptions, RAMS and value engineering

* Ability to work with minimal supervision

* Ability to communicate well, attend technical meetings with clients and give presentations

* Knowledge and use of specialist track design software, specifically MicroStation, BRT, DGauge and ClearRoute2

* Knowledge and experience of track construction methods and installation practices
