About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer - Structures to join our Regional team to work in Northamptonshire.

Role Purpose

Working with the Structures Team

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Engineer - Structures, your main responsibilities are as follows:

* Guides & coaches subordinates in technical requirements and techniques of setting out
* Review of temporary works solutions
* Implements systems and processes
* Carries out trend analysis and identifies improvement areas
* Carries out Independent Inspections of their own section and of others
* Carries out Site Audits to check works and documentation compliance
* Coaches junior staff
* Liaise with designer to resolve technical issues
* Reviews Method Statements and makes improvements as appropriate
* Able to lead an Accident / Incident Investigation
* Carries out trend analysis and identifies improvement areas.
* Carries out field audits and confirms the sufficiency of control documentation
* Produces a fully resourced stage programme in the accepted format / software
* Produces a budget from the resourced programme and monitors / reviews weekly costs
* Involved in the procurement of subcontractors
* Manages sub contractors
* Understands cost and value

Who we're looking for

The following qualities and experience are essential:

* A full understanding of technical requirements and techniques of setting out
* Understands the Organisational Business Management Systems and processes
* Understands method statements
* Understands the principles of Accident / Incident Investigation
* Able to produce a fully resourced stage programme in the accepted format / software
* Awareness of procurement practice
* Previous knowledge experience of working with Network Rail
