SENIOR ENGINEER required to work on the Bylor JV for the Hinkley Point C project based in Somerset.

Bylor is a joint venture between Laing O'Rourke and Bouygues TP. The Successful candidate will be employed directly by one of the parent organisations.

SENIOR ENGINEER – Specific roles and responsibilities

Development and implementation of pre-construction methodology through design integration process.

De-risk site activities through use of digital engineering, virtual construction techniques and other technology to influence design through design integration process.

Development of construction methods, in collaboration with production teams to maximise use of componentisation/ off-site/off-line manufacture to support programme.

Develop construction requirements documents to feed into design to achieve fully co-ordinated buildable solutions through collaboration with design and production teams.

Review design process input and output quality, verify virtual build ability and feedback to designer to obtain fully coordinated buildable designs.

Monitors and reports BYLOR deliverables against Integrated Design programme.

Transfer of adopted method information into production teams.

Transfer of lessons learned and sharing of best practise from parent companies and the wider industry into design and later production team.

Provide support and oversight across areas of technical specialism

Liaise with functions to support effective and integrated project delivery


7-10 years experience of large civil engineering construction.

Degree in Civil Engineering

Understands reinforced concrete detailing, reinforced concrete drawings and schedules.

Ability to visualise, assess buildability and challenge details.

Understands concrete placement issues.
