Senior Electrical Engineer

supporting the Australian and Canadian Navies in the design of the latest frigates
demonstrating our export capabilities. This is a great time and a great

We
currently have a vacancy for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in
Glasgow. This role will utilise the Engineering Integration Test Facility
(EITF) based in Leicester. This is a great opportunity to join a small diverse
team which is leading on test and trials at a unique Naval integration test
site, operating real power and propulsion equipment which will ultimately be
fitted to a Type26 frigate, with the aim of unearthing integration issues
before any ship of the class first enters the water.

The
role of the Senior Electrical Engineer plays an active part in realising the
benefits and learning opportunity of EITF by analysis of test results and root
cause analysis. The role will also be involved in further developing the design
of the EITF and developing design improvements. Working across the disciplines
of power & propulsion, electrical distribution and systems integration, the
role holder will be responsible for providing electrical engineering input to
the delivery of the EITF design and integration of ship fit equipment into the
land-based test facility.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Electrical
Engineer will involve:

Conducting
an assessment of the test data and analysis of any electrical power system data

Preparing
and producing technical analysis reports

Performing
Root Cause analysis investigations

Leading
discussions with wider stakeholders

Providing
help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their
effective working and their development

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Electrical
Engineer:

Essential:

Experience
of electrical power systems modelling, and simulation experience combined with
some diversity of experience of project or product environments

Ability
to perform robust analysis using recognised analytical tools and to make sound
judgements based on experience

Proficient
with software simulation & design tools, MATLAB, Simulink experience

Desirable:

Recognised
and consulted as one of the experts within at least one domain or for
possessing deep knowledge of several domains within his/her discipline

Shows
evidence of continued learning in their field of expertise and practices
sharing knowledge

Responsibility/decision
making responsibility within own sphere of responsibility and delegated
authority

Experience
of managing budgets

Previous
experience of leading/managing a team

You will need excellent communication skills
with the ability to communicate and engage with stakeholders. You must possess an ability to work
independently based on your own initiative and capable of multi-tasking on a
variety of projects with every changing deadline.

Location: Glasgow ( Bristol could be considered) with frequent travel to Leicester Site
