We are currently recruiting a Senior Ecologist for our Redhill office to grow our expanding environmental team, which includes ecologists, landscape architects, geomorphologists, EIA specialists and many other disciplines. A key part of the role will be undertaking and managing ecological surveys but will also involve.
• Ecological reporting and assessment.
• Providing Ecological Clerk of Works role.
• Preparing ecological proposals.
• Managing and mentoring junior EIA/ecology team members.
• Instructing and managing ecological sub-consultants.
• Working and knowledge sharing with our national team of ecologists.
We have an active Community of Ecological Practice and will support you through Chartered Ecologist status if not already obtained. We will also encourage your development in order to obtain protected species licences related to your interest, by providing field experience, mentoring and training as required.
A relevant Environmental degree
Obtained or close to obtaining full membership of CIEEM
Should have an excellent grounding in ecological assessment and be competent to lead most of the following surveys:
• Extended Phase 1 survey
• Water vole
• Amphibians incl GCN
• Identifying bat roosts & activity surveys
• Invasive plants
Excellent report writing skills
Flexibility to travel and unsociable hours for field work
Full driving licence
Holder of one or more protected species survey and/or development licences
