Senior Design Engineer

Based North West London, London

Fantastic opportunity for a Civil and Structural Design Engineer to join Murphy Applied Engineering (MAE), who are the in-house design consultancy for JMS. MAE provide both a temporary and permanent works design service to all of the JMS business units (Major Projects, Transport, Water, Natural Resources (inc. Power), Building and International). The ideal candidate will be somebody looking to progress to Senior Design Engineer in the near future or has recently achieved this status.

The role:

* The main criteria is to have a strong understanding of design engineering principles and the ability to apply them to a broad range of applications

* The role will suit a Permanent Works designer looking to broaden their skill set to include Temporary Works or a Temporary Works designer looking to gain Permanent Works design experience

* The position is located at the North West London, London office in London however, the company operates an Agile Working policy allowing the opportunity to mix home and office working in order to maximise benefit to both employer and employee

* There is the opportunity to undertake site visits on behalf of MAE along with using the agile working culture to work from sites of particular interest if it suits the various parties

Experience:

* Having a professional qualification (IEng/CEng) with an appropriate body (ICE, IStructE etc) or can demonstrate a desire to achieve this status is a major advantage as it aligns with JMS's Better Engineered strategic driver

* Strong communication skills are a must as the successful candidate will be working collaboratively with the company's bid and project delivery teams to develop safe, effective, efficient and highly buildable solutions to overcome the wide and varied challenges faced

* Civil and structural design skills in Temporary or Permanent Works

* Experience in the UK infrastructure market

* Positive and engaging professional, looking to develop their career
