We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Consultant (Shipyard Technology and Operations) to join our First Marine International (FMI) team based in either our Falmouth or Newcastle-upon-Tyne office.
You will work under the direction of the Advisory Group Director, undertaking and managing maritime projects, either alone or as part of an FMI team. Working with company procedures, your aim is to contribute positively to the development of the Advisory Group and its targets and you will take responsibility for the projects under your control. You will contribute to and ultimately manage international shipyard development and performance improvement projects. Your expertise in ship construction and production will enhance our existing team of specialist shipyard consultants and you will represent the company in front of clients.
You will need to have a degree or diploma in naval architecture or another marine engineering related discipline and substantial post-graduation experience in shipyards including experience of production management. In addition, but not essential, be a chartered engineer and have some experience in consultancy.
You will be IT literate, have excellent communication and report writing skills.
This is a full time position within First Marine International (FMI) which is the shipyard technology and maritime market research group within Royal HaskoningDHV. FMI is an international leader in shipyard design and shipyard performance improvement. The successful candidate will be based in Falmouth or Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but it is also possible for the right person to work from home on occasion. The role requires travel overseas for short periods to “friendly” nations.
