Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Provide mentoring and supervision of graduate engineering staff.

Work closely with Technical Directors, Chief Engineers and peers to promote high quality, safe and efficient designs.

Be a champion for our Behavioural Safety Programme – ‘BOSS in Design’.

Become a Supervising Civil Engineer for our ICE Graduate Training scheme.

Will be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output, keeping an eye on latest industry techniques.

Promote innovation and lessons learnt from colleagues across the industry.

Key relationships and personnel for whom this person will be responsible:

Technical mentor of graduate engineering staff.

Work closely with Technical Directors to gain learning opportunities and develop ways of sharing those experiences with others

Required: Good understanding and experience in the engineering appraisal and design of river and/or coastal projects

Numerate, detail focussed with strong communication skills.

Able to undertake detailed designs independently but have the skills to teach and explain design steps to others.

Comfortable presenting engineering solutions to key Client stakeholders.

Flexible working will be considered for this role.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & training: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.

Academic & profess’l qualif’ns: Chartered Civil Engineer, Member of ICE

Background & experience: Civil Engineering Designer including design of steel, reinforced concrete, earth and water retaining structures.

Knowledge base: Latest BS and Euro design codes. First principles of design.

Skills: Eye for detail but pragmatic in design

Personal attributes: Accountable, Integrity, Respectful, Entrepreneurial,
