Amey Consulting’s Highways teams impact the journeys of millions across the UK, by working in partnership with a range of clients and providing consultancy design services for Strategic and Local Highway networks.

The role

We are seeking a motivated Senior CAD Technician with MEP Revit experience to work as part of the team to undertake a fully active part in defining and delivering Client designs on time and of high quality using AutoCAD and Revit software. The role will take responsibility for the production, interpretation and amendment of technical drawings, as well as resolving design issues in collaboration with senior engineers and projects teams.

The Senior CAD Technician is also responsible for managing the control of incoming and outgoing documents to ensure that changes are identified, that the accuracy of the drawings and Revit models are held on file is maintained, and the documents are issued to the clients and contractors in the required format. The Senior MEP Technician will also be involved in the professional development of more junior staff.

Key accountabilities

The Senior MEP Technician is also responsible for managing the control of incoming and outgoing documents to ensure that changes are identified, that the accuracy of the drawings and Revit models are held on file is maintained, and the documents are issued to the clients and contractors in the required format. The Senior MEP Technician will also be involved in the professional development of more junior staff.

Skills & experience

* MEP Technician who has extensive Revit and AutoCAD MEP experience and preferably have a good understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering and experience working in building services environment to take ownership of individual projects and be responsible for their delivery from a commercial, quality and timescale perspective.

* Good working knowledge of any CAD Packages ideally Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit

* Experience in producing drawings related to schematics, general arrangements and layouts and are fully knowledgeable of Revit templates, sheets, families and coordination, any knowledge of the BIM process, implementation plans, execution plans and standards (PAS1192) would be a major advantage.

* Good knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Engineering

* Excellent communications skills both written and verbal

* The capabilities to liaising with fellow design members throughout the design process

* HNC/HND or related degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering

* The ability to provide technically sound Revit and AutoCAD design solutions.

* Experience in undertaking projects tasks in relation to health, safety and welfare.

* Good understanding of relevant legislation, including CDM Regulations.

* Ability to use a range of software, e.g. Revit and AutoCAD, or other design software’s

* Experience in working with minimal supervision and supporting other team members.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

* Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering Qualifications

* Revit and AutoCAD Qualifications

* Experience in using Bentley Microstation, Revit and AutoCAD

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 or higher

* Successful candidates will be required to obtain MOD and MOJ Baseline Security Clearances as a part of their probationary period with Amey.
