About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Senior CAD Technicianto join our team to work in Birmingham.

Role Purpose:

* Responsible for the production of engineering drawings and associated schedules.

What you'll be doing

Core

* Live the BBV HS2 Values;
* Support the delivery of BBVs Sustainability activities.

Health Safety & Environmental

* Hazard Identification and contribution to development of SSoW.

Engineering Control

* Ability to read and determine information from drawings, schedules and specification;
* Preparation of drawings from Engineers sketches, using CAD software;
* Interrogation of others CAD and BIM models;
* Production of schedules, e.g. concrete reinforcement;
* Take-off of quantities;
Understand what BIM is.
The provision of sketches detailing the setting out information installed

Quality

* Maintaining accurate records drawing registers, schedules, specifications and take-off;
* Completion of Quality Check Sheets and production of information for Handover Documentation.

Productivity

* Works to Weekly Programme drafted by others - and marks up progress achieved weekly;
Contributes to collection of data for Key Performance Indicators, including reasons for difference.

Commercial

* Production of accurate take-off of quantities;
* Understands weekly measure. Take offs and schedules materials accurately.

Who we're looking for

* Working independently, responsible for initiating and completing tasks and procedures, including where relevant responsibility for supervising or guiding others;
* The ability to gain, and where relevant apply a range of knowledge, skills and understanding;
* Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately;
* Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes;
* Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility;
* Must be a good team player, with developed communication skills.

* Able to report issues with control and information provided.

Quality

* Reads and understands drawings and schedules;
* Strong understanding of construction tolerances;
* Awareness and use of Specification and other Contract documents;

* Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately.

Commercial

* Knowledge of specification and contract documents;
Understands what constitutes additional works.
