Security Architect

The Opportunity

The Security Architect is responsible for supporting the development and review of architectures that conform to relevant security policies, fit the business requirements for security, whilst at the same time form an appropriate balance between information risk and the cost of any countermeasures.

Join us as a Security Architect responsible for supporting Enterprise IT & Business Unit change taking responsibility for the definition and design of the security model for traditional IT and Cloud Platform. The architect acts as a point of reference for the platform and underlying technologies relating to security used within the company’s instances of the Cloud Platform.

Day to Day:

* You’ll maintain security technology roadmaps, designs and oversee the deployment of security controls across both cloud services as well as on premise solutions.

* You’ll contribute to the delivery of the Enterprise IT ‘Digital Cloud’ strategy by ensuring that key stakeholders both technical and from the business community understand and are able to leverage business advantage by embracing capabilities offered by Cloud solution providers.

* You’ll determine and recommend appropriate security controls by evaluating business strategies and requirements. Undertake security focussed innovation and where appropriate, lead proofs of concept to help determine the future direction for security driven by the overall business and technology strategy. Researching, initiating and managing continuous platform improvements challenging the status quo to optimise value.

* Advise and enable business stakeholders and technical teams to make security decisions as well as provide guidance to projects and change delivery teams across the business. Provide technical assurance for projects and change initiatives to ensure that solutions meet the specified security standards and appropriate security is built in.

* You’ll develop and maintain security architecture framework covering common components of cloud and physical computing and ensure that these are kept up to date. Develop and maintain a design repository and library of security artefacts and understand their relationships. Development, maintenance and document “guide rails” relating to the use of the Cloud Platform which become reference documentation to be used by business project teams.

The Skills

* Ability to understand the technical, contractual and financial facets of IT services and should have prior experience in at least one of the technical areas (e.g. Public Cloud, Digital Platforms, Application and Data Integration and / or delivery of IT service within a service integrator operating model).

* Awareness of technology trends and cyber threats.

* Ability to author and communicate security designs and patterns.

* A degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.

* Professional qualification such as CISSP, CISM, Certified AWS Cloud Practitioner / Certified Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and Deployment.

* Security Architecture qualification such as SABSA

* Knowledge of information security management and operation, governance techniques and incident management in traditional IT and Cloud computing environments (AWS and Azure).

* Knowledge and experience of working in IT function e.g. Cloud Computing, DevOps, IT Operations, Network Security Technologies, Client Computing Technologies, Application Architecture, Middleware and Integration Platforms and Operating Systems.
