About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Section Engineer - Utility Coordinator to join our Regional team to work in Northamptonshire.

What you'll be doing

As a Section Engineer - Utility Coordinator, your main responsibilities are as follows:

* Management and coordination of a GBP4m package of stats diversions
* Production of weekly programmes for planned activities
* Chair and record coordination meetings with the utility contractors
* Maintain as built records
* Maintain records of daily activities and resource levels
* Keep records of all underground and overhead equipment
* Issue of permits to work / break ground
* Ensure technical and dimensional information is consistent and accurately set out
* Generate technical queries where conflicting information arises.
* Understand the basic construction methodologys sufficiently to identify interface conflicts, in order to implement planned strategies to manage these interface conflicts.
* Completion and compilation of quality records in accordance with the project quality procedures. Produce activity control plans.
* Undertake the implementation of formal briefings for risk assessments and toolbox talks with sub-contractors
* Production of weekly programmes
* Issuing of permits to dig / break ground
* Daily diary records and as built records
* Quality documentation and supporting evidence collation.
* Records of coordination meetings
* Toolbox talk, risk assessment preparation and task briefing records.
* Review of works package plans, field control sheets and risk assessments.
* Carry out labour and plant reconciliations.

Who we're looking for

The following qualities and experience are essential:

* Experience of working on projects with major stats interface
* Experience of working with Network Rail / Highways interface is desirable
* Driving license essential
* Written English, communications, literacy, leadership, numerate, ability to motivate, organisational skills and a team player.
