Sea Ceptor Weapon System - Systems Engineer

MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver for a more secure tomorrow

Sea Ceptor is currently in service on the first Royal Navy T23 frigates. Whilst there is a need to provide continuous support to the Sea Ceptor programme during the in-service support phase, there are also significant activities related to the provision of Sea Ceptor for the future T26 and T31 platforms for the Royal Navy, as well as supporting the integration of CAMM onto T45 platforms. MBDA has more recently been successful in securing further Export contracts, adding to the existing contracts currently being delivered.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Sea Ceptor System Design team. Specifically, the role includes supporting the sustainment and improvement of the Sea Ceptor weapon system architecture. This will involve managing aspects of the subsystem architecture, definition and combat system dependencies, and provision of trials support to provide continued UK customer support with the roll out and sustainment of the In-Service weapon system. Technical support to the New Business team in marketing Sea Ceptor to potential export customers will be required along with support to the delivery of new Sea Ceptor UK programmes.

The role will provide opportunities to support Sea Ceptor system-level integration and proving activities across multiple Sea Ceptor programmes, including support to live In-Service UK firings and System-level data analysis following trials activities.

Key Individual responsibilities include:
* System level requirement definition and adaptation for new export variants;
* System architecture definition;
* System level compliance evidence assimilation;
* Management and resolution of Sea Ceptor Problems and Queries that arise from in-service use and trials/testing activity, including the facilitation of workshops, chairing of discussions and delivering training on processes and tools;
* Generation and review of technical documentation, including the Generic Document Suite, key to efficient management of the export campaigns.
* Systems support to MBDA programmes as required, whether existing domestic or export programmes, or support to New Business.
* Understanding the impact of proposed changes on the current design / performing trade studies to ensure the continued viability of the Sea Ceptor product for UK and export.
* Acting as the local champion for the use and development of tools
What we’re looking for

Relevant Systems Engineering experience including:

* An appreciation of the Systems Engineering lifecycle including requirement elicitation, identifying and managing key design drivers, modification development and formal verification and certification processes.
* Systems integration (mechanical/electrical/software) and system interface definition
* An ability to work proactively and flexibly across a number of variant programmes for which relative priorities can change quickly
* Work well in a team, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills, essential to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in building cohesion in the relationships between the Systems team and various interfacing teams
* Use of Microsoft Office and DOORS

What’s in it for you?

This role within Sea Ceptor provides an excellent opportunity to experience leading edge system design development and to gain an awareness of the integration issues relating to other partners, including the T26, T31 and T45 platform design authorities in addition to Export Combat System Integrators. The role will offer different development opportunities and provides a good exposure to all elements of the System engineering lifecycle.

Our benefits

*Flexible working *opportunities for career progression *paid overtime (subject to level) *great bonus scheme *comprehensive pension scheme *annual salary review *fantastic working environment and site facilities *social, charitable and sporting activities.

Join a great team!

You will be joining a highly motivated team with the opportunity to contribute across multiple programmes, with a focus on effective system design delivery across a number of concurrent project aspects, in addition to provision of support to the New Business domain.
