At Lloyds we’re motivated by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Over the last few years, we've grown our number of active online banking users to 15.7 million and our mobile users to over 11.4 million. Our goals are broad and bold: we want to use digital to support people buying their first home, help them save for the future and support businesses to start up and grow. We will do so by tackling social disadvantage in England and championing Britain’s diversity at the same time.
We're committed to deliver a world-class customer experience by building state of the art digital platforms, enabling our Customers to enjoy personalized propositions across our multi-channel digital ecosystem.
We're embarking on a bold transformation program supported by over £3bn in strategic investment to digitise the Group, maximise our capabilities and transform our ways of working as we progress on our journey to build the Bank of the Future.
Do you want to grab a unique professional opportunity to drive product excellence and digital cultural change?
We’re looking for an experienced SDK Product Owner that is a passionate, empowering and customer-centric leader: this role is part of the Digital Product Lab.
Here is where our teams shape and build the capabilities that Lloyds Banking needs to empower our Customers with state of the art digital products. Using customer-centric design driven methodologies, we aspire to build experiences allowing our Customers to do banking on their terms. Some examples of what we do are native and Design Frameworks, Security and Authentication, flexible, modular and open Architectures.
Acting often in a B2B or B2B2C context, the role will require the ability to not only understand end customer needs, but also those of our internal customers and support the creation of a strong Digital Product culture that is strategically aligned to our ‘Bank of the Future’ agenda.
This role will be pivotal in building, delivering and driving the adoption of platform enablers. You know that you will have achieved your goals when our digital products (both native and web) are consistent in experience, style and security, are unconstrained in the experiences that they can provide to our Customers across existing and new touch-points and can be worked upon by multiple labs safely, simultaneously and independently.
A key aspect of this role is the delivery of an internal SDK that allows our commercially minded colleagues to build their own propositions autonomously, focus on the features required for their products whilst using enterprise standard components. The challenge is to deliver world-class products at pace.
You will build a toolkit of capabilities unlocking the power of digital interaction mediums such as voice and biometrics, and explore the opportunities represented by Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Block Chain, and Virtual Reality technologies. All of this will support the shaping of great digital products and experiences for all our customers.
Your work will create the foundation to deliver a multi-app strategy, working across platforms (native and web) and supporting a federated model of safe and parallel development. Your internal Customer will then be able to leverage core modules and services such as Connectivity, stateless Authentication, Microservices API, Cloud based infrastructure, etc.
You will work in close partnership with Engineering to identify and measure Customer (internal and external) and technology benefits, own the roadmap, deliver at pace using dual track agile and continuous discovery principles.
Could you help us make it possible?
It’s an exciting time to join us as we’re investing in our people, data and platforms with £3bn over the next three years. We’ll give you training in our change approach, a support network through our Agile community and the opportunity to develop your career here.
So what are we looking for in you?
You'll be comfortable influencing without authority, trusting and empowering the Team with responsibility
You'll be data driven and bring evidence-based decision-making to explain 'why'
You are comfortable with ambiguity and help to navigate the team through it using quiet confidence, gravity and experience
You enjoy growing less experienced product manager into future product leaders
You're comfortable challenging partners saying “No,” but also explaining why in terms they understand
You'll foster a culture of curiosity and experimentation in which people are comfortable "trying things out" and learning quickly and safely
You'll inspire colleagues to move from an "organisation of talking" to an "organisation of doing"
You're an adaptable and quick learner, absorbing information to keep pace with a changing landscape
You'll inspire with energy, passion and service to the team
You've a well-developed communication kit bag with extensive partner management experience
A natural facilitator and decision-maker, you'll enable collaboration across all disciplines within the Digital Product Lab and beyond
You're an inclusive leader and positively influence your colleagues by demonstrating the behaviours valued by the group
You create a safe space for diversity of skills, background, cultures and voice in your teams.
We'll be specifically looking for these skills on your CV:
You master and value multidisciplinary working and understand that misalignment between engineering, product and commercial can lead to extensive waste and so have your own tool-kit to offer to mitigate this risks.
You appreciate that creating internal products is challenging: your immediate users are your colleagues, but your end users are always your customers.
You know that platforms often need organisational and cultural change to be delivered successfully, so you understand the need to engage and drive adoption and bring people with you.
You are passionate about technology in a technical way but don’t necessarily need an engineering background to be successful for this role.
One of your key challenges will be to understand the implications that technology direction will have on the wider business from a Customer Satisfaction, Commercial and Compliance stand point. And are happy to influence accordingly, driving excellence through consensus.
Experience working with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver change
Proven experience in strategic and large transformations
Advanced business insight
What else could you bring with you?
Experience of influencing alignment up and down the organisation - able to explain prioritisation decisions in releases
Experience of crafting an excellent team environment that attracts and retains talent
