Scientist Al Developer
Would you like to be involved in using new
artificial intelligence algorithms? For the past 2
years the Integrated Modelling Technologies Group (IMTG), part of the
Computational Engineering business, has continuously increased its capability
in AI and is now acting as an area of technical expertise within the Air
sector. We have secured a variety of projects in this area to be delivered to
our Air and Maritime customers. We currently have a vacancy for an Al Developer
at our site in Filton, near Bristol.
As an Al Developer, you will be expected to be
involved in developing machine learning algorithms for classification type
problems using existing data sources from air, land or sea platforms. For
example, typical work would be creating code in Python using the TensorFlow
framework to create prototype applications.
This role will provide you with, a broad
understanding of air, land and maritime platforms, the engineering lifecycle
and how emerging AI/ML technologies can provide a step change in the design,
development, test, maintenance and support of BAE Systems products. It also

Manage technical projects competently in order
to ensure adherence with baseline schedule, scope and costs.
Develop new opportunities to deploy machine
learning for the benefit of BAE Systems.
Develop new algorithms in a variety of application
areas including service engineering, manufacturing, situational awareness and

Your skills and qualifications as a Scientist Al Developer:
years of industry experience or a PhD or relevant post-doctoral experience
(computer science/ physics/ mathematics/ STEM subject).
and/or master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent
Ability to write high performance production
proficiency in coding, e.g. C++/ Python/ MATLAB.
Demonstrated knowledge in some of the
following areas: Machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing,
computer vision, pattern recognition, large-scale data mining
Some experience working on classification
problems would be advantageous
experience building and productionizing innovative end-to-end Machine Learning
systems using frameworks such as TensorFlow would be advantageous.
