Job Title: Regional Strategic Investment Engineer
Location: Oxford, Swindon, Melksham or Andover
Salary: Up to £56,671 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance
Permanent | Full Time Hours - Flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week
We are continually analysing our network to make improvements, and as such we need you to join our team as a Regional Strategic Investment Engineer; specialising in maintenance of our 132 kV network and the construction of electrical projects on the 132kV, 33kV and 11kV distribution networks. This role covers networks across the Ridgeway Region, including Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and part of Gloucestershire.
You will take on a number of high profile, technically challenging projects including the replacement and upgrade of the networks as well as sub-stations, over-head lines and underground cables. The investment in current projects exceeds £70m per annum, providing a unique and pivotal opportunity for managing the interface between our colleagues in Investment Management and Central Strategic Investment, and our subcontractors carrying out the work on site. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including sub-contractors, to ensure works are carried out on time, to budget and in the most efficient manner possible.
You will be involved in repairs and installation of new equipment throughout the network, and due to the 24/7 nature of our work you may be required to undertake standby duties based on a rota to ensure our clients and customers receive the best service possible.
Your Skills and Experience
To ensure you get the most from your role, and our customers receive the highest standard of service, we ask that you have the following to join us;
- qualification in Electrical Engineering to min. HNC level, or equivalent; alternatively significant relevant experience may be considered
- experience gained in a similarly complex electrical engineering role is essential
- ideally you will already be SAP authorised up to 132kV, or working towards this, however this element is not essential
- knowledge of protection systems for HV plant, either from a design, site management or commissioning view point would also be highly desirable
- maintenance/commissioning protection tests experience is favourably considered.
- a full UK driver’s licence is essential.
