Job Summary

AECOM have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a flexible, talented Regional Director / Associate Director Planner to join our Manchester team on a permanent basis. We provide excellent professional development and career opportunities so the ideal candidate will be looking to further their experience and skills base in a practical workplace environment.

The successful candidate will need to run applications, appeals and inquiries, as well as developments, plans and promotions. They will have experience in promoting large scale residential and mixed use developments, both Brownfield and Greenfield, through the Local Development Framework and by coordinating professional teams to submit applications. The ability to manage projects, either alone or under supervision, and develop business is essential and ideally they will already have built up contacts in the North West region/ UK.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

*

Promoting large scale residential and mixed use developments (both Brownfield and Greenfield) through the Local Development Framework and by coordinating professional teams to submit applications;

*

Running applications, appeals and inquiries, as well as developments, plans and promotions;

*

Developing client relationships and generating work;

*

Co-ordination of project teams and project management;

*

Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base;

*

Preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications;

*

Preparation of planning and economic statements; and

*

Policy representations.

Minimum Requirements

*

Have strong planning experience, ideally with experience of Planning in Manchester and the UK;

*

Have an interest and track record in business development;

*

Have existing client contacts, ideally in the North West region;

*

Have strong project management skills;

*

Are able to manage a large and complex workload;

*

Have an ability to undertake quantitative and sequential assessments;

*

Are committed and have an eye for detail;

*

Are used to working with minimal supervision and have a strong ability to use their own initiative; and

*

Are personable and a strong team player.

Preferred Qualifications

*

Bachelor's Degree​

*

MRTPI qualified
