Job Summary

The Role:

*

Manage and oversee the Oxford office which comprises 40 Cost and Project Managers, including P&L responsibility.

*

Undertake direct client liaison and account management, lead as commission / account manager, and act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met.

*

Contribute to the overall and operational management of AECOM across the UK.

*

Be specifically responsible for delegated business development / marketing objectives.

Duties:

*

Provide leadership within the Cost and Project Management business in AECOM.

*

Provide leadership and mentoring to the Oxford team.

*

Lead from the front driving health & safety, technical excellence, client satisfaction & a people-focussed culture.

*

Manage and be responsible and accountable for the financial metrics of the office – workload, utilisation, billings, cash collection etc.

*

Manage and implement a people-focussed growth strategy to enable and support recruitment, career progression and staff engagement.

*

Ensure all staff members have current and relevant training.

*

To provide effective line management and mentoring to staff.

*

To provide oversight / strategic guidance / audit & review, to a portfolio of projects being delivered by the office, with overall responsibility for the quality of our outputs.

*

Identify new work opportunities and lead / contribute to bids.

*

Lead business development / marketing activities for the office.

*

Maintain a personal target of min. 60% chargeable time.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant Experience

*

Extensive Cost and/or Project Management experience of construction projects.

*

Experience at a leadership level in a comparative business.

*

Experience of managing, leading & growing teams.

*

Ideally experience of health, science &/or higher education sectors.

*

Demonstrable track record of winning new work from new clients & repeat work from existing clients.

*

Extensive experience of successfully delivering complex projects.

Key Attributes

*

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

*

Excellent industry network and reputation.

*

A passion for first class service delivery, implementing best practice and continuous improvement.

*

Ability to win work from new and existing clients through strong business development skills.

*

A desire to motivate, manage and grow teams.

Role – Health, Science & Tertiary Education Sector

*

Secondary role is to be part of the sector community and support the sector senior management team with focus on integrated Cost and Project Management working between the Oxford, London and Cambridge offices.

*

Contribute to leadership within the sector (e.g. knowledge leadership, data capture, benchmarking, best practice etc).

*

Identify new work opportunities in the sector and lead / contribute to bids across UK&I.

*

Key sector client account management.

*

Lead delivery of Cost and/or Project Management services on significant projects in the sector.

*

Be specifically responsible for delegated business development / marketing tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

* Relevant professional qualification (F/MRICS, MAPM etc)
