Job Summary

The Asset Advisory team sit in our national Asset Management group and lead our portfolio of rail asset management and research & development consultancy services. With an increasing global market in this field, a growing portfolio of high-profile research projects in the UK and accelerated client investment in new technologies, we are recruiting a Rail Research / Asset Advisory Consultant to help deliver and grow this service offering for our key infrastructure clients.

The Rail Research / Asset Advisory Consultant will assist with the delivery of our rail research and asset advisory consultancy to develop solutions that address our transportation client’s future challenges.

The Rail Research / Asset Advisory Consultant will have numerous exciting projects to work on ranging from local, national and international problems to solve to keep them busy.

Job Duties:

*

Providing reports, analysis, research and design documents on relevant projects as directed.

*

Understanding, analysing, manipulating and interpreting different data types from a number of different sources to develop novel bespoke solutions on a project-by-project basis.

*

Building and utilising simple databases (SQL and MS Access)

*

Carrying out basic statistical analysis of datasets and being able to interpret findings.

*

Working with the project team to generate data visualisations for presenting results to internal and external clients.

*

Presenting research results and findings to clients

*

Participating in lessons learned reviews and committing to a culture of continuous improvement.

*

Upholding the ethical and quality standards of AECOM

Minimum Requirements

*

Experience in research, innovation commercialization and / or other asset management consultancy services.

*

Experience of providing engineering / technical management consultancy/research advice to such clients.

The candidate should display a positive attitude to all activities and tenacity to meet deadlines.

*

The candidate should display initiative whilst consulting with colleagues when appropriate.

*

The candidate should be able to work flexibly and contribute to the work and performance of the team.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong mathematical and statistical ability and an understanding of mathematical coding (R, Python, Matlab, other appropriate packages).

*

Experience in simple database management (SQL or MS Access)

*

Mathematical degree (Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science etc.)

*

A candidate with an enquiring, analytical mind and strong time management.
