Purpose of Role

The finance and commercial team provide the commercial and finance functions to support the Alliance. This includes finance, commercial, contract, legal matters, budget control and reporting.

The quantity surveyor will provide a leading role to support Alliance projects and the programme with commercial aspects.

Main Duties of Post

Accountabilities - Deliverables

Site measurement of actual works completed

Agreement of subcontractor interim measures and final accounts

Assisting cost clerks and supervisors with project Activity coding and WBS Coding

Ensure cost capture to correct project WBS by supporting cost clerks to complete site labour, plant & material returns

Agreement of subcontractor Applications for payment to contract timescales

Assisting commercial manager with project costs and accruals

Processing variation requests and orders with supply chain and Owner Participant

Resolution of contractual disputes

Financial outputs to Earned Value Management

Assisting commercial manager with forecasting project and programme costs

Responsibilities - Duties

Cost control and administration

Subcontractor management

Contract administration Change Control

Budget Management

Accuracy of forecasting

Person Specification

Qualifications

Holding or working toward a construction commercial qualification, such as quantity surveying or commercial management preferred

Knowledge and Experience

Working in a finance or commercial function within the engineering or construction sector

Knowledge of finance systems

Cost and budget administration

Financial and commercial reporting

Good working knowledge of Microsoft excel
