An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to drive our Quality Assurance and Improvement strategy including machining plants, design and procurement at Raynesway, Derby.

As Quality Engineer you will be responsible for securing compliance across all products, services and processes to meet the requirements of customers, quality standards and certifying authorities. You will manage responses to external and internal audit corrective action/non-conformance reports whilst working closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders to deliver business improvement activities and resolution of quality issues. You will play an active part in the successful transfer to the new facility.

Our nuclear business is a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority, managing all aspects of plant design, safety, manufacture, performance and through-life support.

Key Accountabilties:

* Makes sure manufacturing problems are identified, resourced and resolved. Coaching capability for problem resolution.
* Maintains the quality system through the application of Rolls-Royce Quality Management System and you will ensure compliance of the Quality System by creating and delivering audit plans.
* Responsible for data capture of appropriate KPIs 'right first time' identify actions,
* Support cell manufacturing quality engineer, high level collating metrics and review systemic failings.
* Own audit programme for area and provide assistance in data capture.

Education level

Qualifications

* Degree qualified or equivalent.
* Engineering background, operating in manufacturing environment.
* Strong experience of working in a quality or business improvement role with extensive experience of investigation and auditing; proven knowledge and demonstrated capability of deploying problem resolution tools, lead an improvement activity, demonstration of coaching activities.
* Strong customer focus, able to effectively influence and challenge appropriately to manage customer expectations.
* Ability to lead cross-functional and multi-skilled teams is essential.
* Experience of deploying ISO/ASO 9001.
