What is the purpose of the role?
Our engineers deliver a range of technical services required typically through the engineering project lifecycle and in other operational initiatives and functions. You will be based at Europe's largest sewage treatment works, Beckton, and will be part of some amazing technological advances and be able to witness engineering history as it unfolds.
What makes this role unique?
This role is based at Beckton STW on the new Lee Tunnel Pumping Station. It's a multimillion pound project designed to prevent sewage and storm water discharging to the River Lee. The Tideway Tunnel Project is well underway which will mean that sewage and storm water that eventually flows into the Lee Tunnel will be pumped to the Beckton sewage treatment works. The role will require managing OEM contracts and overseeing heavy lifting operations.
What will this role involve?
Assessment of technical information and development of solutions, through the preparation of engineering deliverables such as delivery to task specifications, engineering reports, drawings, specifications and data sheets.
Delivery of project outputs, as part of multi-disciplinary project or operational teams, in accordance with project or service delivery procedures.
Delivery of project or maintenance outputs to time, cost and quality.
Communication of progress and additional resource requirements to relevant manager In some instances, supervision of a small team to ensure delivery against objectives.
Coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will preferably have an appropriate HNC technical qualification. You will have at least two years of experience in a related role and previous experience within either the wastewater or utilities sectors is desirable but not expected. You will be a good team player, have good analytical and interpersonal skills, be an effective communicator and be willing to face challenging issues. Specific training will be provided where required.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role will be based out of Beckton sewage treatment works. We are offering a starting salary £38,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
