About the role

Proposition Development Manager

Hammersmith, London W6 8BS

c. £55,000 plus up-to 15% annual bonus and other excellent benefits.

The Product team are the architects of product and proposition development to drive meaningful revenue growth through building customer value and loyalty. The team works cross-functionally to identify new and exciting propositions and products to bring into our portfolio of profit-maximising products and bundles whilst ensuring the existing products maintain high standards of quality and performance. Our core KPIs are to drive customer satisfaction and enable revenue growth in an efficient manner that maximises operating cash flow.

The role

Working within the product function and closely with the product and commercial teams this role is responsible for developing new propositions; identifying, business casing and ensuring delivery of developments to that proposition to realise our ambitious growth in this market. Virgin Media’s ambition is to be the “customer’s number one choice for Quadplay”.
The objective of the role is deliver a roadmap of exciting new propositions and services that will drive customer satisfaction, revenue and retention whilst attracting new customers to Virgin Media. Ultimately the goal is to deliver the North Star of Customer Advocacy. You’ll own the proposition plans and performance against those plans.

Principle responsibilities

*

Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, behaviours and attitudes in order to identify and develop propositions that meet these needs – driving new acquisition and greater customer loyalty.

*

Support the translation of CVPs into 12-18 month proposition roadmaps working with the product and commercial teams to determine which elements will deliver greatest value and how best to land them in market

*

Work with Customer Journey Factories, Marketing and Digital teams to create simple, impactful and value adding product and customer experiences

*

Work closely with technical areas and business analysts to document detailed proposition requirements and fully understand the technical solution and any constraints.

*

Support the creation of business cases for new propositions in collaboration with Commercial and Finance Teams and gain senior management approval to deliver new propositions.

*

Work with the GTM team to formulate comprehensive, consistent and high impact plans to deliver new propositions to market successfully and support any post launch activities to improve quality and performance.

*

Monitor the performance of existing converged products and propositions across Virgin Media channels and identify new opportunities for growth.

*

Develop a strong understanding of value creation opportunities to ensure these are met through our propositions.

What we’re looking for

Good commercial acumen and an understanding of the industry and key issues affecting our business

*

Experience working within a matrix organisation where there is not direct lines of reporting working on your product

*

Comfortable operating in ambiguity and able to generate bold and original ideas that create growth

*

Ability to manage upwards – working with senior stakeholders to influence departmental decision making

*

Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders

*

Ability to see beyond the task to the overall purpose and engage people around a strategy, creating an energising and rewarding environment to work in

*

Demonstrates a strong team mentality and able to build and maintain open and honest communication at all levels

*

Ability to lead and take responsibility and ownership of matters: delegating, constructively managing conflicting priorities under pressure, and maintaining a professional and positive manner to enable teams to deliver results

*

Excellent stakeholder management skills showing empathy, approachability and a fair considered approach when dealing with colleges

*

An attitude that reflects Virgin Media’s culture and promotes creativity, optimism, zest and considered risk taking to deliver simple and credible solutions

*

Prior cable, telecoms, Pay TV or mobile experience is a plus but not key for this role

Required qualifications and experience

Experience of working within a commercial/product environment

*

Experience of working across cross-functional teams
