Senior Project Surveyor / Project Surveyor / Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor
Are you a proactive Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor looking to work on building projects that can change the world; projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?
Our Norwich Office Cost Management business unit continues to grow, with specific growth demand within the Education, Healthcare, Residential and Science markets where we have successfully secured positions with many high-profile clients and some key local projects and programs in the industry. As a direct result of this growth, we are currently seeking a full-time Senior Project Surveyor / Project Surveyor.
About Our Team: We are currently an office of 45 professional people, including 20 Cost Managers, delivering construction solutions for our diverse client base, providing a broad range of services. We strongly promote personal and career development with clear career structures and development programmes. We look to balance this with a flexible approach to working through our “Freedom to Grow” programme.
You will be primarily working alongside an Associate or Director to successfully manage and deliver cost management duties on various capital projects across the East of England.
The role will cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception/business case development estimates, through to cost planning, the RIBA design stages, procurement and onto the site delivery, commissioning and operational stages.
You should possess the skills and experience to actively support the internal team, manage and mentor more junior staff on individual projects as well as technically complex projects, typically ranging between £1m to £40m (construction cost).
You will help develop collaborative relationships with our existing clients and other professional colleagues within the industry. Demonstrate an ability and desire to obtain an increased understanding of a client’s business, demonstrating Client focus.
Successful delivery of projects with minimum supervision, ensuring tasks on projects are managed and completed efficiently, on time and with a keen desire to maintain client’s satisfaction leading to continued and further business.

Be enquiring, proactive and challenge where appropriate our own existing methods/processes to demonstrate value for money to the Client
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are key.
Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes.
You will ideally be a self-motivated individual from a consultancy or client organisation background with the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
Proven experience in a consulting environment/client organisation providing the full spectrum of Cost Management services including Pre Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
Solid and practised core measurement skills with experience of quantified procurement routes.
Experience of Education, Healthcare, Residential and Science projects and clients is advantageous.
Previous experience of managing internal resources, including the training and mentoring of more junior staff members.
Good Understanding of contracts (JCT and NEC).
Supporter of social and CSR activities, promoting a positive and enjoyable workplace.
Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management / Construction Management.
Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS or other equivalent institution.
Full clean UK driving license, and a willingness to travel.
CSCS card holder.
