Job Summary

Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to work on infrastructure projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so, we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in London providing a comprehensive, accurate and value-driven service across a variety of high profile and exciting projects for clients in the public and commercial sectors. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.

AECOM Buildings & Places is made up of dedicated teams delivering projects in Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Sports Venues, Work Places, Education, Government, Healthcare, Aviation, Water and Rail.

We are friendly, busy and motivated with an established track record of successfully delivering local and overseas projects. Some of our flagship work in recent years include;

Palace of Westminster, Southbank Place, Arctic Science centres, The Bank of England, BBC Broadcasting House, The Titanic building in Belfast and the St Pancras Chambers Hotel in London. We have secured places on a number of frameworks alongside a core of regular repeat Infrastructure & Transportation clients. We are looking to expand our team to deliver an exciting mix of projects across a range of sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

*

Feasibility estimates, cost planning (presenting with no supervision), contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering and commercial awareness, fee generation, dispute resolution, post contract management (competent in cost reporting).

*

Drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process.

*

Work on projects of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors and appropriate problem-solving.

*

Manage projects effectively using appropriate management systems/protocols.

Be aware of and develop marketing opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department, in order that they may assist in following up potential leads enabling the development of new business.

Minimum Requirements

*

Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.

*

3-4 years proven experience in a consulting and contracting environment providing the full spectrum of CM services including Pre Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.

*

Passionate about delivering high quality consulting services to our clients.

*

Understanding of NEC standard forms of contract.

*

Experience in either Water, Rail, Highways, Aviation sectors preferred.

*

Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.

*

Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools shall be essential.

Preferred Qualifications

*

Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.

*

Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.

*

An active member of local networking groups.

*

Connected to peers within other disciplines.
