What is the purpose of the role?

The project support coordinator is the key point of contact, accountable for the coordination of field teams to support the programming and planning of key water network projects across the Thames Valley region. You will support the planning of work, relating to the trunk mains scheme of works and supporting the network mains upgrade programme. You will be responsible for ensuring that all planned works are processed through our internal systems, ensure there are adequate field resources planned correctly and support the field operations manager to ensure that local targets are attained. You will provide specialist advice and knowledge as appropriate (training will be provided) and will ensure that statutory obligations and Thames Water policy and standards are maintained at all times in the field. The role will require on site presence where required to support the Field technicians on site. There will therefore be a need to have understanding and accreditation to allow supportive works to be carried out where needed.

We are leading on some major projects on our water network in relation to network maintenance, the use of 'Sahara' leakage detection technology ensuring that no day is the same. This role boasts a good balance of both office and field based works, allowing you to see the project from scheduling through to completion. You will acquire a good understanding of our water network and you will work on varied projects which will naturally develop your business knowledge.

What will this role involve?

Managing and coordinating specific field activities within the Thames Valley area, you will be responsible for:

Coordinating resources for regional projects, updating the internal system as necessary.

Ensuring work is planned according to all requests received and customer impact is in line with Thames Water policy.

Promoting a culture of safety at work and utilise the hazard identification system when required.

Responsibility for the effective planning and scheduling of field related activity using SAP and Click Mobile.

Involved in ensuring that the 'strategic valves' plan is maintained as per company expectations.

Maintain the 'Sahara leakage detection' programme of works, attending sites when required in order to minimise aborts.

Attend project related meetings when necessary to attain further insight into progress, communicating project and resource planning expectations.

Support on site activities to ensure that work completion is achieved.

Deliver excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

What are we looking for?

To be considered for this role, we are looking for a confident coordinator who is experienced in managing multiple workloads at one time. You will be extremely organised in your approach and will possess strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels of an organisation. You will be efficient in picking up new company systems and software and you will be computer literate in MS Office. If you have previous experience in the water industry, this would be advantageous however this is not essential. You will have preferably gained previous experience in despatch, planning or scheduling of field teams, with a focus on health and safety. Additionally, you must be a self-driven, proactive individual who is keen to learn about the water industry (if no previous experience in this area) and must be comfortable managing your workload both within and outside of an office based environment.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role is offering a salary of up to £32,000 depending on skills and experience and will be based out of our Highworth Depot. You will be required to travel across the Thames Valley area and will be provided with a van for this.
