Vacancy: Projects Process Engineer
Location: Brimsdown, Enfield
We are currently recruiting for a Projects Process Engineer responsible for supporting the ongoing capital expenditure projects being implemented on site at Brimsdown. The role will include a number of activities through developing, detailed process design and plant commissioning where applicable, working closely with a variety of other departments towards integration with the wider global technical group.
The successful candidate will need to apply fundamental knowledge to conceive new projects and improve current processes. Outside vendors and contractors will be utilised and managed by the incumbent to complete projects as needed.
The incumbent will be appointed at Brimsdown but will also expect to support the Royston operations when needed and will be expected to travel freely between the two.
Key responsibilities
· Finalise PFD’s adding stream by interpretation of mass balance
· Complete P&ID’s to established JM standards
· Calculate pressure relief cases to JM standards
· Generate and check project documents generated by internal JM personnel including but not limited to:
· Process descriptions
· Basis of safety
· Design basis
· Control strategy
· Cause and effect matrices
· Write equipment and preliminary instrument specifications
· Where necessary attend hazard studies as responsible Process Engineer
· Carry out commissioning work on new and existing plant
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will have:
· First degree in Chemical Engineering (or similar) based subject
· Strong experience with design of processes and equipment
· Ideally have
· Full understanding of heat and mass balances, P&IDs and PFDs and other
· Full understanding of hazard studies
· An ability to provide innovative solutions to problems
· Ability to distil complex situations into clear and simple summaries for presentation to non-subject matter experts
· Experience working within a manufacturing of precious metals (high value) business would be advantageous but not essential
Due to the nature of the site, applicants must be none smokers and free from Nicotine and Nicotine products for at least 3 months
