Our activities cover a range of market sectors including passenger car, commercial vehicle, rail, defence, motorsport, motorcycle, off-highway, marine, clean energy and power generation.

Ricardo Rail

We provide consultancy and independent assurance services including engineering solutions that reduce carbon footprint, systems engineering for rail project delivery, strategy, planning and operational efficiency and asset management and optimisation. We also provide NoBo, DeBo, AsBo and ISA, across infrastructure and rolling stock services.

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to become a critical member of the Global Change team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for candidates who want to make a big impact delivering global initiatives, managing senior stakeholders from across the division and becoming a key part of the division’s future success.

Our ideal candidate would be determined and enthusiastic with excellent organisational and communication skills. They will be able to work under pressure, to tight deadlines with changing priorities from the Global Change Programmes Manager and senior members of the division.

The candidate will have strong project management skills, experience in requirements gathering, project planning and delivery.

Experience in the Rail industry is not essential.

Your primary focus will be to successfully plan for and deliver Global IT Change projects within the Change Portfolio, ensuring project and programme risks are managed and the desired outputs, outcomes and benefits are realised.

The Rail Change team is focused on delivering the Rail strategy across multiple programmes; account management, digital reporting, IT change, business mergers and transformations to name a few. You will work within this team and across various programmes to deliver your projects, many of which will be IT focused.

This role will see you working with teams from multiple countries covering different time zones, to plan and successfully implement a wide range of projects requiring the use of different project methodologies. You will monitor project success, escalating issues and risks where needed and negotiate project changes with senior stakeholders when necessary.

Specific Responsibilities

As your focus will be IT change, you’ll gather requirements for new systems and system changes, developing these into business cases and specifications for delivery. You will need to quickly gain an understanding of our complex stakeholder network, IT landscape and divisional strategy.

You will support the development and implementation of the divisional global IT change strategy and the digital reporting strategy for the relevant Programme Directors.

You will liaise with our IT suppliers and Group systems teams to ensure successful project delivery and the defined benefits are realised. You will need strong organisation and stakeholder management skills.

You will provide updates and periodic reporting on the status of these projects and drive divisional awareness of the Change Portfolio. Part of this will involve delivering ‘Lunch and Learns’ and tools or process training where needed.

Education and Experience

Educated to degree level.

1-3 years of experience in a project delivery role.

Must have experience planning and delivering complex projects, preferably within an IT or Digital area.

Able to travel to all UK offices and possibly internationally for global projects and programmes.

Ability to prepare professionally presented and well-structured reports, business cases and project plans is key.

Benefits: Competitive salary, 25 days holiday, pension, life cover, permanent health insurance, private medical insurance and many other fantastic benefits that you can purchase via our flexible benefits scheme.
