What is the Role?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for experienced Project Managers to join our existing team to help us deliver telecommunications projects to a wide range of clients across the UK, ensuring we exceed our customer's expectations.
You’ll be responsible for managing multiple projects from design, through delivery, to handover including managing the daily activities of internal and contractor resource, as well as project documentation, financial reporting, process management and escalation management to appropriate standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must for this role as you’ll be liaising with customers, Project Managers and other stakeholders to provide regular updates and reviews, delivering safely and to our customer’s expectations.
What do I need?
Be able to demonstrate initiative and can work autonomously with a keen focus on delivering projects to time and budget.
Experienced in the management of projects, deploying telecoms technologies including fibre optics, Voice, Video, Ethernet, Data & Transmission Systems.
Proven experience of stakeholder management with internal and external customers & an understanding of health and safety requirements including knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations is advantageous.
Full UK valid driving licence
A Telecommunications Project Management background with specific experience of managing data/telephony network projects, providing connectivity to customer offices and data centres.
Previous experience of managing projects in the Telecommunications / IT industry.
Proven experience of managing 3rd parties to contract and then through delivery phases with strong understanding of project management best practices.
Well organised, self-driven and strong communicator both verbally and in writing, with the ability to pull together individuals with their own business objectives into a coordinated, efficient team.
Ability to portray the technical change in business terms for business engagement during planning and execution.
APM / PRINCE II certification desirable
- Responsible for defining and managing the project scope and quality & project delivery schedule (plan).
- managing and maintaining a strong RAID process & for the project finances.
- Responsible for adherence of the project to SSEET governance & the adoption of SSE culture with respect to safety, information security and project rules and principles.
- Customer relationship with respect to project delivery & for appropriate stakeholder management through timely and effective communication. Maintaining project delivery progress in line with declared benefits.
- Responsible for business readiness ahead of deployment and a smooth transition from delivery into operation.
