Job Summary

AECOM's Exeter/Plymouth Project Management business unit continues to continues to grow, with a specific growth demand within the Infrastructure and Building sectors where it has successfully secured positions with many high profile clients and some of the largest projects and programs in the industry.

As a direct result of this growth AECOM is currently seeking a full time Project Manager – based in Plymouth.

You will be part of an exciting new team supporting us to successfully manage and deliver various capital projects across the South West and wider UK & global Aecom.

As a Project Manager you will be entrusted to work on a range of challenging projects, ranging from £1m to £20m or as part of a project management team undertaking discreet tasks on a large/major project, £20m upwards, under the general guidance of a Director.

Duties to include:

*

Assist in the delivery of Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery

*

To provide effective support to the APMs

*

Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time

*

Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team

*

Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon

*

Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed time-scales and quality standards

*

Co-ordination and sign off on all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue

*

To ‘win’ clients through strong business development skills

*

Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience in Infrastructure or Building Construction:

*

Ideally to include Infrastructure sector (Ports & Marine, Civils/Highways, Environment, Defence) experience.

*

Ideally to include Building Experience including Office, Healthcare, Education

*

Day to day main client point of contact for projects

*

Successful delivery of projects with minimum supervision, leading to further repeat clients and their business

*

Manage and mentor junior staff to deliver our Project and Cost Management service efficiently and effectively

*

Management of client consultant team (design, cost, planning, H&S)

*

Planning & Programming skills

*

Chairing and minuting Project Team Meetings

*

Leading Steering Group Presentations

*

Managing Change Control

*

Process Setting Project Strategies

*

Project Reporting

*

Proven pre & post contract experience including contract administration in a lead role. NEC a preference.

Preferred Qualifications

*

Professional Qualified – ideally Project Management/Construction/Maritime/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree

*

Working towards Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution

*

5 - 10 years proven project management experience in a professional environment.

*

Proven pre & post contract experience including contract administration in a lead role

*

Good Understanding of contracts especially NEC3 but also JCT, etc

*

Experience of a variety of project types / sizes / sectors

*

Excellent interpersonal skills - written and oral

*

Solid background in Project Management

*

CSCS card holder
