WHAT TO EXPECT
Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.
As the Powertrain Software Project Engineer, you’ll be part of the Propulsion Systems, Calibration and Controls team within Powertrain. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of software integration, issue investigation and resolution for Powertrain system functional control. Working with system design engineers, test and integration engineers, component engineers and group leaders, you’ll be the key team member for delivering the system functionality for these exciting technologies.
You’ll take responsibility for leading the investigation and resolution of Powertrain software issues, as well as tracking management of the software integration. As the first point of contact for technical and project management matters and issue resolution for designated programmes, you’ll interface with the manufacturing plant launch and vehicle teams to investigate issues, as well as manage delivery of solutions into the manufacturing facility.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
It’s essential that you have a technical background, with the ability to lead and resolve engineering issues. In addition, you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical, business and process issues within a team environment. You’ll also have exceptional project management, negotiation and communication skills, along with strong interpersonal capabilities and self-confidence. As a self-motivated individual, you’ll have the proven ability to deliver with minimum supervision and use your initiative.
Finally, you’ll ideally be qualified to degree level in an engineering discipline, or are able to demonstrate equivalent levels of training and experience, though this isn’t essential.
